Larry Hickman

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Larry Bruce Hickman, age 78, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Born in Jamestown, New York, to Richard and Doris (Laird) Hickman, Larry lived a life marked by dedication, service, and deep love for his family and country.

On September 12, 1970, Larry married the love of his life, Martha “Kriss” Nadine, in San Diego, California. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised four children: Nadine Ronnfeldt of Neosho, Missouri; Kristina Ronnfeldt of Colorado; Jennefer Harting of Granby, Missouri; and Bruce Hickman of Joplin, Missouri.

Larry proudly served in the United States Navy for 12 years, exemplifying his strong sense of duty and patriotism. After his military service, he continued to contribute to the nation through 27 years of work with the Federal Communications Commission, where he earned the respect of colleagues and peers alike.

A longtime member of Silver Moon Church in Neosho, Larry found strength in his faith and community. He enjoyed the peacefulness of fishing, the satisfaction of woodworking, and had a lifelong passion for all things military. He was a man who found joy in simple moments, whether tinkering in his workshop or sharing stories with his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Kriss, his four children, eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and his sister, Sharon Chors of Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a beloved grandson.

His legacy of service, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
