(From Konantz Warden Funeral Home)Daniel “Dan” Paul Werner, 59, a long-time resident of Lamar, Missouri, passed away December 6, 2025. He was born on February 10, 1966, in Breckenridge, Minnesota, to James and Patricia Werner.
Baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, Dan was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lockwood, Missouri. His life was defined by a simple but profound code: God, Family, and Country.
Dan worked as a mechanic for many years, a trade where his hard work and steady hands served him well. He also found great joy in helping his brother-in-law on the farm whenever the opportunity arose. A true outdoorsman, Dan was an avid hunter who felt most at home in nature. He was well-known for his culinary skills; he loved to "smoke" good meat and took even greater pleasure in sharing it with his family and friends.
To Dan, family was his circle, but that circle was wide and welcoming, as he viewed everyone he met as a child of God.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Werner of Joplin, MO; his brother, Russell Werner of Lamar, MO; his sisters, Vicky (Todd) Sarday of Ferguson, NC, and Chris (John) Kremp of Lamar, MO; and his sister-in-law, Marcia Werner of Waverly, NE.
He also leaves behind a beloved generation of nieces and nephews: Megan (Dillon) Simmons of Roeland Park, KS; Stephen (Alissa) Sarday of Sanford, NC; Annelise (Lee) Huggins of Raleigh, NC; Emily (Patrick) Costa of Milford, MA; Erin Kremp of Framingham, MA; and Joe Kremp of Springfield, MO; as well as his great-nephew, William John Costa. Dan also held a special place in his heart for his bonus “daughter,” Lindsey Hobson of Diamond, MO.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, James L. Werner, and his oldest brother, Michael J. Werner.
The family will greet visitors on Thursday December 11, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Konantz Warden Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at Konantz Warden Funeral Home on Friday December 12, 2025.
Private interment and burial will be held at Morehead Cemetery.
