Randy Cahoon

Randy Cahoon took an early trip to join his Heavenly Father. He left this world on Monday, September 21, 2015. Randy was born January 4, 1961 in Lander, Wyoming but spent most of his youth in Picher, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Bobbie Jo Rowden and Gene & Billie Ussery of Decatur, Texas. Randy grew up with and is survived by many siblings. Rick Rowden and his spouse Tina, Ottawa, Kansas; Danny Cahoon and partner Connie, Ottawa, Kansas; Robert Mills and spouse Wynona, Pamona, Kansas; Mike Mills, Wichita, Kansas; John Mills and spouse Martha, Ottawa, Kansas; Cassie Mills, Ottawa, Kansas; Cathy Morris, Tennessee; and Debbie Collins and spouse Jeff, Wichita, Kansas.

After serving a stint in the Army, Randy settled in the area of Webb City while serving with the Army Reserves. He married Shael Newby on July 18, 1992 and she survives. His children are: Bobbie Jo Henley and her spouse Ryan, St. Joe, Missouri; Josh Cahoon and his spouse Ashley, Oronogo, Missouri; Katie Jane Cahoon and her partner Dustin Jenness, Webb City, Missouri; Josie Rae Webster and spouse Kyler, Webb City, Missouri; Montana Cahoon, and Ty Cahoon of the home.

Randy was a great Pappy to Jordan Hunter, Justin Henley, Jenna Henley, Braxten Cahoon, and Karsyn Cahoon, he loved his grandchildren so much.

Throughout life Randy enjoyed being a truck driver the most. He traveled all over the United States, helping travelers along the way. He also served as a Police Officer in area cities and once again this gave him the opportunity to help and assist folks in need. He worked as a Tow Truck Driver and Car Recovery. He had an active career in many fields but they all included him being able to help and serve those in need.

Randy was always available to the youth that needed a shoulder to lean on, he offered his home, his attention and his love. A lost soul found refuge with Randy. Randy had an ornery streak but that didn’t stop him from making friends. Most of those friends declare and appreciate Randy’s loyalty to his friends. They could count on him in an instant. He shared his unusual sense of humor with all that he met. His laugh was a signature of its own. He loved life, friends, family and most of all his children, grandchildren and wife.

Randy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.


There will be a Celebration of Life and Memorial to Randy Cahoon, Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Parker Mortuary, 2 p.m. The family requests no flowers. The family and friends will be at the home of Jeanne and Stan Newby, 701 S. Pennsylvania, Webb City, following the ceremony.
