Marlys J. Weston, 75, of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, MO.

Marlys was born on September 30, 1940 in Galena, KS to the union of John and Margaret (Jones) Rogers. Marlys was united in marriage to Freddie Mack Weston on March 11, 1956 in Miami, OK. Marlys spent her time as a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed reading, shopping, cooking and painting.

Marlys is survived by one son, Tim Weston and wife Toni of Joplin, MO; one daughter, Tracy Taconis of Baxter Springs, Ks; two brothers, Buddy Rogers and wife Betty of Galena, KS, and Charles Rogers and wife Deanna of Grove, OK; one sister, Patty Baumann of Carthage, MO; sister-in-law, Loretta Rogers; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Marlys is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Tony Weston; one brother, Kenny Rogers.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until service time on Saturday. Marlys has been entrusted to Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for cremation. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House in care of the funeral home.
