Silas Dade Cortez, infant son of Shirrell Cortez, III and Haley Kester went to heaven on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Silas is also survived by his paternal grandma Elizabeth Shields Cortez of Carthage, maternal grandparents Greg and Charlyn Kester of Carthage, great grandma Shirley Stillions of Carthage, great grandparents Gary and Patricia Coats of Carthage, great grandma Rev. Charlotte Coats of Parsons, Kansas and Lorene Kester of Joplin, MO. Aunt Lindsey Hodges (Jason) of Carthage, three uncles Derek Cortez (Kristian) of Joplin, Kirby Cortez of Oklahoma City, OK and Anthony Turk of Carthage. Silas is also survived by a host of cousins, great Aunts and Uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Shirrell Cortez, II, great grandparents Emma and Nick Cortez, Danny Stillions and Wayne and Polly Kester.
