Cindy Lewis

Cindy Ann Lewis, 58, of Reeds, Missouri, departed this life Wednesday evening, December 14, 2016 at Cox South in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family.

Cindy entered this life on September 27, 1958 in Carthage, Missouri, to the union of James Richard and Ruth Ann (James) Carterman. She attended Sarcoxie Schools and was a lifelong resident of the area. On July 31, 1991 she was united in marriage to Donald Lewis at Miami, Oklahoma. For fifteen years she was employed at Ozark Village in Sarcoxie, and was later a substitute employee in the cafeteria with the Sarcoxie Schools. She loved attending football games, track meets and school trips as well as other activities her grandchildren participated in. She also enjoyed her yearly vacations to the beach with her family and would often ask, “Which beach are we going to next?” Cindy had a special love for the ocean. Cindy also had a great love for her family and friends. She will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents; one aunt, Carol June Bradley; and two uncles, Wayne Bradley and Jake James.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Donald; three daughters, Tory Velten and husband, Steve, Stacy Fischer and husband, Michael, all of Sarcoxie, Missouri, and Ashley Edwards and husband, Jeremy, of Lockwood, Missouri; two sons; D.R. Lewis, State of Nebraska, and Brent Reeves of Wichita, Kansas; her grandchildren, Paylin, Sydney, Abram, Bryn, Emma, Jobe, Xander, Colton, Brooke and Lucas; her parents, James Richard and Ruth Ann Carterman of Diamond, Missouri; one sister, Lynn Whisner of Diamond, Missouri; two nieces and one nephew; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Cindy are 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home with Auddie Tash officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions have been directed to Sarcoxie track and field cross country program and may be left at the funeral home.
