John Dodson

John Dee Dodson, 91, Seneca, Mo, passed into eternal rest 10:00 pm, December 26, 2016 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin after an illness.

John D. Dodson was born September 26, 1925 the son of Jesse C. and Golden Twyla Dodson. John loved to fish and camp. John worked for the White Trucking Company in Joplin, MO, as a mechanic. He also was a transmission specialist. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seneca where he was a greeter. 
John married Kathryn Louise Pierce September 11, 1945 in Columbus, KS and she preceded him in death May 8, 1989. 

Survivors include 10 Children; Carolyn Sue Neely, Wyandotte, OK, Richard Dodson, Seneca, MO, Linda Watson and Don, Ozark, MO, Larry Dodson and wife Becky, Seneca, MO, Janet Watson and husband Randy, Neosho, MO, John Dodson and wife Linda, Hastings, NE, Michael Dodson, Neosho, MO, Cathy Morris, Neosho, MO, Daniel Dodson and wife Susan, Joplin, MO and Misty Tosh and husband Daniel, Goodman, MO; one sister, Colleen Budenberder, Saint George, KS; 17 grand-children, 54 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and grandchildren Lori Dodson, Christian Watson and Brenton Williams; son-in-law’s, Bill Neely and Darrell Morris and daughter-in-law Diane Dodson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, December 28, 2016 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca

Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held 10:00 am, December 29, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Seneca with Rev. Aaron Weibel officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Matt Watson, Brian Dodson, Larry Dodson, Josh Dodson, Steve Dodson and Hunter Lockwood serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dave Dodson, Aaron Dodson, Corey Dodson, Ethan Tosh, Jason Morris and Tyler Morris

  1. I'm now 74 and John D. Dodson has been a friend since my early childhood and I worked with him for years as an adult. He is the best heavy-duty truck gear mechanic ever in Southwest Missouri and maybe the United States. R.I.P., Johnny.
