(From Parker Mortuary)Dad, Steven Gordon Comer, father, grandfather, and friend, was finally able to give Jesus the hug he had spoken of for years on Monday, November 3, 2025.
Steve lived a life full of laughter, love, and faith. If you knew him, you knew how much he loved to make people smile. His sense of humor was contagious and his joy for life shone brightly in every room he entered. He had a personality that you simply couldn’t help but love.
More than anything, Steve’s greatest passion was sharing the love of Jesus. Whether it was through his words, his actions, or his trademark jokes, he was always eager to tell others about his Savior. Those who knew him from church will tell you he had a special gift for combining joy and faith—making people laugh while pointing them to the hope of eternal life in Christ. He always believed that the best was yet to come!
Steve was also a man of great generosity. He freely gave his time, energy, and resources to anyone in need. He was always there to lend a hand, offer encouragement, or simply listen.
Though Steve will be deeply missed here, his family and friends take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace—making the angels smile, telling stories, and sharing laughter in Heaven. The reunion to come will be a celebration beyond imagination, when we too will embrace him again and join in his joy.
Steve is survived by his former wife, Bonnie Kaye Comer and their three children. Amy Lowry(Jason), Chris Comer(Christina) and Mark Comer; six grandchildren, Melissa Yacovazzi(Nick), Bailey Tyndall(Caylob), Ashley Comer, Evie and Stella Lowry, Riley Comer and one great granddaughter, Maisey. He is also survived by his brother Ken Comer (Kathie). There are many dear friends and extended family who were blessed by his love and kindness.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday November 12th, at 1pm at Stone cemetery East 32nd street and county road 160, Diamond Missouri
