(From Fohn Funeral Home)Mava Belle Writer, age 78, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Friday, February 27, 2026 at her home.
She was born October 14, 1947 in Kingston, Arkansas the daughter of Johnny and Edna (Norris) Randall. On March 10, 1967 in Cassville she was united in marriage to Verlon Eugene “Gene” Writer, who survives. Also surviving are her son, Doug Writer and wife Sandy of Cassville; daughter, Mandy Barnes and husband Eric of Cassville; sister, Joyce Darby of Berryville, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Travis, Dacia, Kindra, Augustus, Madison and Logan and two great grandchildren, Adelaide and Ivory.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Max Randall and sisters, Gwendolyn Randall and Faye Moore.
Mava graduated from Cassville High School and later continued her education, earning an associate degree. She worked for many years as an LPN at South Barry County Hospital and FASCO Industries in Cassville. A terrific bowler, Mava also enjoyed crocheting and rarely went anywhere without her children or grandchildren by her side. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Mava was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Donnie Spears will conduct the services. Burial will be at Corinth Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
