Dixie Haase

 Dixie Carol Haase, 79, Granby, MO died April 11, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family after a short illness. Dixie was born July 26, 1934 in Granby, MO to Fred McDaniel and Helen (Capps) McDaniel. Dixie was a seamstress, working at Granby Manufacturing, Big Smith and retiring in 1997 from La-Z-Boy Midwest after 26 years of service.

Dixie married Loren Haase, October 5, 1952 in Granby, MO. She was a member of the Granby First Church of God since 1948. Dixie was a Granby Historian and was very active in the Granby Museum. She loved to do genealogy and quilting. Dixie was a Girl Scout Leader. She was active in her church as a youth leader and various other areas of service. Dixie supervised the painting of the mural on the back of her church. She also compiled a book on the area cemeteries. Dixie was Granny “B” to the children at Granby Elementary and was Granby Citizen of the year in 2000.

Dixie is survived by her husband Loren. She is also survived by four children, Kathleen & Dean Clymer, Rich Hill, MO, Leslie & Claudia Haase, Granby MO, Barbara and Scott McGehee, Neosho, MO and Beverly Haase of Granby, Missouri. One brother, Joe & Cathy McDaniel, Granby, MO. Nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Opal McDaniel and one sister, Gloria Johnson.
