Lorene Ricke

Lorene E. Ricke, age 93 passed away Thursday April 10, 2014. She was born November 9, 1920 to Raymond and Edith Church at Crestline, Kansas. Lorene had lived in the area all of her life.

In 1948 she married F. Verne Ricke of Joplin, Missouri and they had lived in Webb City for over 40 years prior to his death in 1992. Lorene had worked as a bookkeeper in Joplin for over 35 years.

Survivors include a son Tim Ricke and wife, Carol, of Battlefield, Missouri; twin granddaughters, Heather Stenger and husband Jonathan of Republic Missouri, and Melissa Krueger and husband Travis of Enid, Oklahoma; four great grandchildren, Gavin Lee Krueger, Kaleigh Ann Krueger, Olivia Madison Stenger, and Brooklyn Elizabeth Stenger; one brother Floyd Church of Joplin, Missouri; one brother-in-law Jim Ricke and wife Linda of Webb City, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were a sister Mildred Vobbe, and a nephew Robert Parrish, Sr.

Lorene was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Webb City for over 50 years and served as church treasure for many years. She served as the city treasure of Webb City for 17 years.

Lorene had a loving and giving heart. She would do anything for anyone. She loved to have her family come home and always had toys for the little ones. When she was able, she delivered meals for the Senior Center, belonged to a Bridge Club, was a member of Freeman Advance, St. John’s Prestige and Survivors Clubs.

Graveside services will be held at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday April 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Paul Gray officiating.

Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Webb City or to the charity of your choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home of Webb City, Mo.
