Cheryl Yvonne Schmidt, 63, Carthage, MO passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at her home. Cheryl Yvonne Kepler was born October 13, 1952 in Kansas City, MO to the late Pete Kepler and Ruth (Clark) Kepler. She was a graduate of Wyandotte High School, Class of 1970 and then attended the University of Kansas for two years. Cheryl worked for 35 years as a longshoreman in Long Beach, CA. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Carthage, MO where she was part of a women’s bible study and also served as a church volunteer.
Survivors include one daughter; Marlena Yvonne (husband Ernest) Olivas, Carthage, MO; one son; Michael Rene (wife Brittany) Olivas, Lakewood, CA; two brothers; Raymond (wife Linda) LaPietra, Lenexa, CA, and Robert (wife Kristy) LaPietra, Lenexa, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, DeeAnna LaPietra.
