Velma B. (Coffey) Rogers born Feb. 20, 1919 and died at 96 years of age on October 29, 2015.
She had been very well cared for by The Good Samaritan (an Assisted
Living facility in Verona, MO) since May 2, 2014
Preceding her in death was her husband of 48 years (Leonard F. Coffey) who died Sept. 10, 1985 and was the father of their four sons: Ron K. Coffey of Webb City, MO, Roger L. Coffey of Pasadena, CA, Doug K. Coffey of Neosho, MO, and Dennis L. Coffey of Prescott, AZ. Also preceding her in death was her loving and devoted second husband of 18 years: Mr. Edward Rogers (who passed away on January 5, 2009).
In addition to her 4 sons, Velma B. (Coffey) Rogers is survived by numerous fine Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren scattered across numerous locales around the country. Velma (Coffey) Rogers lived an incredibly joyous life. This was evident both within her numerous life experiences of 90 plus years, and also more importantly, in terms of bringing 4 sons into the world--each of which were very fortunate to gain fine success from their own endeavors. They in turn produced multiple further heirs to the Coffey Family of tradition and self-worth.
Along with Velma and Leonard Coffey producing four sons to help create their legacy, Velma was further enriched in her long life by experiencing numerous adventures of travel throughout the USA and abroad with her since deceased life partners.
May our Mother: Velma B. Coffey now “Rest in Peace” from such an incredibly great ride!
Visitation will be from Sunday, November 1st thru Monday, November 2nd at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO. Graveside services and internment will be at Ozark Cemetery in Joplin, MO on Tuesday, November 3rd at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers of sympathy, her sons respectfully ask that any donations be presented to The American Cancer Society on her behalf to help aid in their ongoing good works.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
