Teddy Dean Rouse, 79, Granby, passed away October 29, 2015 at his home, following a brief illness.
He was born November 18, 1935 in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Fred and Madge (Nigh) Rouse. Ted was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Neosho High School in 1953. He earned his B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri – Rolla School of Mines and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. Ted spent his career as a chemical engineer, eventually becoming an executive with EFCO in Monett. He was an avid competitive golfer and loved animals, fishing, traveling, grilling and his annual trips to Hot Springs, as well as visiting family in Michigan and Florida. Some of his favorite trips were to Spain, Italy, Nova Scotia, Ireland and Mexico, but he loved his cabins on the water most of all. Ted designed his own home in Granby and cabin in Noel. He was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Neosho and loved the area he was raised. He was a rabid St. Louis Cardinals Fan, and rooted for the St. Louis Rams and Missouri Tigers. He never lost a game of cards his whole life and he loved to dance.
Ted married Geraldine Shipman on November 3, 1960 in Granby, Missouri, where they raised their two sons. Geraldine preceded him in death on June 26, 2009. He is survived by a son, James Wade Rouse of Michigan; a sister, Marilyn Price of Indianapolis and a brother, Roy Rouse of Austin. In addition to his wife, Ted is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Todd Rouse.
