Peggy Irene Rentfrow, age 87, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 8:58 a.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015 at her home following a five year illness. Peggy was born November 6, 1927 in Joplin, Mo. and was a lifetime Joplin resident. Peggy was an artist, and seamstress, and enjoyed cooking, and playing cards.
Peggy married James H. Rentfrow Sr. April 15, 1946 in Joplin and he survives. Additional survivors include a son, James H. Rentfrow Jr. and wife Rebecca, Joplin, three daughters, Sherron A. McBee and husband David, Diamond, Mo., Sandra Kaye Brackett and husband Allen, Duquesne, and Kathy De Armond, Joplin, two brothers, Ronald Stephens and wife Shirley, Joplin, and Donald Stephens and wife Joyce, Carl Junction, Mo., 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hal and Hazel Stephens, two brothers, Sonny and Bill Stephens, one sister, Betty Stephens, and two granddaughters, Rhonda Martin, and Shawn Rentfrow.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Rev. Jarel Burnside officiating. Burial will follow at the Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
