(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Mary (Kathy) Kathleen (Riley) Cooper passed away at 77 years of age on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Mary (Kathy) was born on February 17, 1946, in Carthage, Missouri at McCune Brookes to Lev Nolan and Mary Lou Riley.
Kathy grew up in Carthage with her sister Lucile and 4 brothers, Keith, Ross, Jerry, and Denis. She graduated from Carthage High School. Kathy worked as a secretary for Missouri Farm Bureau, both in Carthage and Lamar.
She married Everett Ray Cooper on August 28, 1964, in Carthage. They moved to Houston, Texas in 1971 and managed an apartment complex for her sister for one year, then she became a loving mother and housewife for the rest of her life. They moved back to Carthage in 1981. They had 3 sons, Brian, Paul, and David. Kathy is survived by her husband, Ray, son Paul and his wife, Jana, grandchildren, Lane and Miranda, son, David and his wife, Bethany, grandchild, Maleah.
Kathy loved gardening, growing flowers, and cooking. She loved all animals especially small, new ones that needed help.
A Celebration of Life will be held when her husband, Ray, joins her and they will be interned together in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
