Pauline Jones

Pauline Jones, Joplin, Missouri, passed away Monday March 27, 2023, at the age of 97 at College View Manor.

She was born in Exeter, Missouri, the daughter of Truman Ray and Neoma Ruth (Messer) Cole.

Pauline was united in marriage to Donald Dene Jones of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, who preceded her in death. They were married 72 years. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Harold Cole and Forrest Ray Cole, one sister, Virginia Lee and her son, Larry Jones.

Surviving are one daughter, Linda Thomas and husband, Lowell; twin sister, Nadine Elder; six grandchildren, Lance, Tyler, Truman, Tiffany, Doug, and Jeremiah; eight great grandchildren, Sophie, Vivian, Chetan, Rohan, Lakshmi, Alie, Levi, and Zac.

Pauline attended elementary school at Union Valley School and graduated from Rocky Comfort High School. After moving to Joplin in the early 1950’s, Pauline worked for various stores in downtown Joplin, then retired from the Joplin Public School System.

Pauline was a long time member of the Church of Christ, having been baptized at an early age.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and residents of College View Manor for loving her and making her feel at home.

Contributions in memory of Pauline may be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday April 4, 2023 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am prior to the service. Graveside service will be 2:00 pm at Maplewood Cemetery Exeter, Missouri.
