She gave birth to three children and later was united in marriage to Leon Finner on October 4, 1987 in Joplin, he survives.

Also surviving are her children, her son, Byron Stewart, of Menifee, CA, Darla Stewart, of Seattle, WA, and Tondra Stewart, of Marine County, CA; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Stewart, of Lake Elsinore, CA; siblings, Dorthy Brikhead, and Auburn England, and husband, Robert, all of Joplin; 15 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was employed with Marin General Hospital and Ross Hospital both in California before returning to Joplin where she worked at St. John’s and then with Freeman Hospital for over 31 years until her retirement.

She was a faithful member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Joplin. She was natural caregiver with a loving heart. She often extended her love beyond family and friends, often doing for others before doing for herself. Her legacy of goodwill and selflessness will be remembered by her family and friends for generations to come.
