(From Parker Mortuary)Clara Jo Irick, age 94 of Joplin, Missouri, passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 10, 2024 following a short illness. Clara was born July 22, 1930 in Canute, Oklahoma to the late Frank Taylor Duncan and Nora Marie (King) Duncan.
Clara graduated from Canute High School and shortly after married Bobby Lee Irick in April of 1948 in Elk City, Oklahoma. They eventually moved to the Joplin area in 1956, and she began a career in banking that lasted over 32 years prior to her retirement. She was a long-time member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Joplin, where she volunteered making quilts for babies.
Survivors include a son, Gregory D. Irick of Joplin; sister, Joyce M. Haase of San Diego, California and numerous cousins and extended family.
Other than her parents, Clara is preceded in death by her husband Bobby, who passed away on March 21, 2011.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church of Joplin with burial to follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery in Joplin.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
