Gene Frisinger

David Eugene “Gene” Frisinger, age 89, Racine, MO, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Freeman West of Joplin with family at his side.

Gene was born March 13, 1935 in Rhame, North Dakota, son of the late Carroll Morris Frisinger and Fanny (Weingert) Frisinger. He moved to Missouri as a child and graduated from Neosho High School. He married Carol J. Welch on December 3, 1954. They moved to Stark City, MO and raised Black Angus Cows until moving to Racine in 1987. He continued raising cattle until 1990. He went to work for MoDOT in 1954 and worked for them until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Seneca United Methodist Church.








Gene was known to go fishing every chance that he got. He was an avid bass fisherman and was a member of the Back Lasher Bass Club that traveled the four state area fishing. He enjoyed the time he spent fishing with his wife, and even fished in a BASS Tournament held on Grand Lake. He loved it when his family and friends came to Grand Lake and fished with him at the family dock. He was a gentle soul who loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by many.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a son, Rusty Frisinger who passed in 2019, a granddaughter, Bree Johnston, and his siblings, Neil, Nancy, Jim, and Tina.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Carol (Welch) Frisinger; son, Randy Frisinger and wife Sharon of Joplin; daughter, Sherry Richardson of Seneca, MO, daughter-in-law, Dondi Frisinger of Rogers, AR; grandchildren, Jennifer McCary and husband Brad of Ozark, MO, David Bastian and wife Shalae of Chicopee, KS, Brandy Frisinger of Carthage, MO, Kristan Frisinger of Carthage, Jordan Hoeft and husband Eric of Rogers, AR, and Payton Frisinger of Rogers; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.








Funeral service will be Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Johnny Wilkins, Rev. Marilyn O’Brien, and Rev. Bob Summers officiating. Interment will follow in Burkhart Cemetery, Racine, MO with family serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
