(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Freida P. Kite, age 90, of Carthage, Mo., passed away on Wednesday November 6, 2024, at Oak Pointe in Carthage, MO following a lengthy illness.
Freida was born on November 2nd, 1934 in Stella, MO to her loving parents Argyle and Geneva (Smith) Haynes. She has been a lifelong area resident.
She worked for Wal-Mart pharmacy in Carthage, MO as a pharmacy technician until her retirement.
She married her late husband, Gilbert E. Kite on February 12, 1954 in Joplin, MO. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Argyle and Geneva Haynes; five brothers, Claude Haynes, Melvin Haynes, Bill Haynes, Darril Haynes, and Gary Haynes; two sisters, Joyce Akin, Carolyn Brattin.
Freida is survived by one son, James “Brent” Kite and partner Linda of Joplin, MO.; one daughter, Sherrilyn Hicklin and husband Robert “Bob” of Carthage, MO.; one granddaughter, Shene` Henderson and husband Edward; one brother, Wesley Haynes and wife Carolyn of Wheaton, MO.; two sisters, Wylene Clouse of Republic, MO., Veva Lee and husband Bill of Cassville, MO.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, Tuesday, November 12th, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary, 3701 E 7th Street, Joplin, MO. Graveside service will be held at 12:00pm at Rocky Comfort Cemetery following the visitation.
