Bill Largent

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Billie Hugh Largent, 91, passed away December 3, 2025.

He was born in Jane, Missouri on July 13, 1934 to the late Verne and Lucille Largent. Bill married Lois Stratsma on May 19, 1956 after meeting her at a pie supper where he was auctioning. They celebrated 69 years together. They raised four sons in Jane, Missouri.

Bill was the owner of Bentonville Livestock Auction as well as the auctioneer. He auctioned his first sale at the age of nine years old. He was just a natural at it. He also held farm sales; but many people came to the sale barn just to hear him and to be entertained by his sense of humor.

He served in the Missouri National Guard and developed a longtime friendship with several of the guardsmen.

He loved deer and elk hunting and camping in Colorado. He enjoyed going with family and friends year after year. Bill and Lois moved to Colorado for their retirement and later returned to Missouri. Other hobbies included reloading firearm ammunition and playing a good game of cards or golf.

Bill was preceded in death but his wife, Lois in October 2025; his parents and his brothers, Harold, Melvin, Mervin, and Larry; his daughters-in law, Carol and Tonya Largent and granddaughter, Miranda Largent.

Bill is survived by his sons, Stanley Largent of Rudy, Arkansas, Harlan and his wife Helen Largent of Pineville, Missouri, Joe and his wife Darcy Largent of Montrose, Colorado, Gaylan and his wife Nancy Largent of Billings, Montana.
