Fred G. Smith, 86, of Carthage passed away at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Carthage Health and Rehab. Fred was born February 28, 1930 in Humansville, Missouri. He was the son of Garrett A.H. Smith and Margaret “Beeler” Smith. Fred owned and operated Transport Refrigeration. He flew his own plane and loved restoring old cars.
Fred is survived by one son, Garrett Smith of Carthage and one daughter Sherry Beagle of Carthage, one sister Nellie Hestand of Kansas City, MO, five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; George Smith and Charles Smith.
Memorial Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Humansville at a later date. Online condolences may be sent at www.ulmerfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ulmer Funeral Home.
