Marilyn McPherson Maness, Stella, Missouri, died April 25, 2016 at Medicalodge in Neosho at the age of 87.
Marilyn was born Nov. 2, 1928 in Stella, Missouri, the daughter of William and Lola (Dyer) McPherson. She was a lifelong area resident and was a retired city mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
Marilyn married James Ryan Maness on Sept. 21, 1949 in Stella and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2015. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Patricia Ann Maness of Stella and son, Maj. James K. Maness USA, Retired, also residing near Stella with his wife, Ruth. Four grandchildren, Lt. James Everett Maness, USNR of Allentown, PA with his wife, Melissa; CPT Paul Maness, USAR and his wife, Julie of Tulsa, OK; Robert Pominville and fiance`, Sara of Houston, TX and Tami DellaCalce and husband, Mike of Joplin and six great grandchildren; one brother, James A. McPherson of Weston, MO and one sister, Ann Moody of Auburn, AL. In addition to her husband and parents, Marilyn is preceded in death by two brothers, William D. McPherson and Robert McPherson and two sisters, Jean Hackney and Delores Ranson.
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
