Mary Lou Allison, age 72 of Joplin, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Mercy Hospital following a short illness.
Mary was born March 11, 1944 to the late, Willie Gooch and Vada E. McKinney Gooch, in Joplin where she has resided all her life. She graduated from Joplin High School with the class of 1962. Mary was a homemaker, raising her family until later working for K-Mart until the store's closing. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their school events and babysitting.
On July 6, 1964, Mary married William Lee Allison in Joplin. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2014.
Survivors include a son, Darrell Allison and wife, Brenda of Joplin; daughters, Carol Cupp and husband, Steve of Diamond, Brenda Carey and husband, Brian of Carl Junction; brother, Bob Gooch of Carthage; sisters, Ruth Provance of Joplin and Ruby Clogston of Springdale, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jared, Brice, Dylan and Tyler Allison, Courtney DeCarlo, Whitney Carey, Ethan and Amanda Cupp, Matthew and Kaylee Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Caden and Laikyn DeCarlo, Avalee, Brayden and Judge Allison; plus many extended family and friends.
Mary is additionally preceded in death by brothers, Floyd, Lloyd, Clennis and Patrick Gooch and sisters, Darlene Weaver and Marie Tucker.
Funeral services are planned for Monday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary with internment to follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Joplin Elk's Christmas Baskets in care of the mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
