J.R. Lawrence, age 75, Joplin, passed away at 12:56 a.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Freeman West Hospital after an illness.
J.R. was born June 12, 1940 in Joplin to the late Clem Lawrence, Sr. and Violet Story Lawrence and had lived in the Joplin area since 1940.
He worked as a dry waller for over 40 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheri Grady, Seneca; two sons, Mitchell Lawrence, Neosho, Benjamin Lawrence; a sister, Cheryl Comer, Joplin; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
J.R. has been taken for cremation. A celebration gathering is planned for Thursday from 5-7:00 p.m. at Schifferdecker Park.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
