Rose M. Whitmus, age 85, of Webb City, Mo. passed away at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin. Rose was born August 24, 1930 in Pierce City, Mo. and had lived in Webb City most of her life. Rose was employed as a cook for various local restaurants, including many years with the former Stockyards Café in Joplin.
Rose was a member of the Christian Faith.
Survivors include a son, Dayle Van Trease, Webb City, two daughters, Judith Cole, Joplin, and Patricia Weaver and husband Raymond, Warren, Maine, one brother, Phil Williams, Webb City, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Mullen, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Rose’s wishes were to be cremated with no formal services planned. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
