Faye Ellis

Mrs. Norma Faye Ellis, 78, of Carthage, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, August 1, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, after a brief illness.

Faye entered this life on May 28, 1938, in Christian County, Missouri, daughter of the late William and Helen (Garrison) Pippin. She was raised and attended school in Reeds, Missouri and has been a resident of the Carthage, Missouri area for the majority of her life. She was a homemaker and followed the Baptist faith throughout her life. She enjoyed collecting dolls and watching wrestling.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Glen Pollard and Dale Miller.

On March 30, 1991, she was united in marriage to Lillard “L.J.” Ellis and he survives of the home. Additional survivors include her three sons, Kirk Miller, Travis Miller and Wesley Ayers all of the state of Texas; three daughters, Rose Leach of Sarcoxie, Missouri, Deborah Pollard of Neosho, Missouri and Teresa Hamm also of Sarcoxie; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Willard Pippin of Reeds, Missouri and Billy Pippin of Neosho, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.


Funeral services for Mrs. Ellis will be held graveside on Thursday morning, August 4, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Carterville Cemetery in Carterville, Missouri, with Pastor Brent Thomas officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Dale DePriest, David McCumber, Lawrence Thomas, Butch Smith, Earl Mason and Bob Hays. The family will receive friends on Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City.
