Dickie Joe Poe, age 66 of Joplin, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Mercy Hospital following a sudden illness.
Dickie was born December 19, 1949 in Joplin, Missouri to the late Morris Poe and Scerenia B. Poe. Dickie was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Parkwood High with the class of 1968. Dickie worked in construction but was well known for his concrete work. He served our country in the United States Army as an Army Medic.
Surviving Dickie are daughters, Brenda Poe of Joplin, Jennifer Poe of Chillicothe, Missouri; son, Bobby J. Poe of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; sister, Sheila Crane; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; plus many extended family and friends.
Other than his parents, Dickie is preceded in death by his brother, Leroy Poe.
A committal of ashes will take place on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Carl Junction Cemetery.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
