Chester Lewis Lacy, age 75, Carl Junction, Missouri, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017, at Mercy Hospital after an illness.
Chester was born July 19, 1942, in Wyandotte, Oklahoma son of the late Bruce D. Lacy and Myrtle J. James Lacy, and had lived in the area all of his life.
He gave proud and honorable service to his country as a member of the United States Army from 1961 - 1968. He served in Alaska, Japan, and Vietnam as an Army Medical Service Combat Medic, Operating Room Technician, and Surgeon’s Assistant. NCOK Surgical Service.
After leaving the Army, Chester worked as an automobile salesman; owned and operated a laundry service, and had several rental properties for several years. Chester was a member of the Wyandotte Indian Nation.
He married Brenda L Thuerauf on June 4, 1997, in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include four children, Caitlin Lacy of Carl Junction, Lonnie Tighe of Pittsburg, Kansas, Crystal Campbell and Angie Westerman, both of Springfield; a brother, Ronald Lacy of Raymore, Missouri; six grandchildren, and three great grandkids.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 at 12:00 Noon, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Bala Swami Govindu officiating.
Interment will follow at Wyandotte Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-7:00 PM at Parker Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church, in care of Parker Mortuary.
