Kathryn I. Smith, age 91, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at her home.
She was born March 31, 1926 in Stella, Missouri the daughter of Walter and Sarah (Pogue) Ward. She was united in marriage to Lee R. Smith, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Harlan, Melvin, Dallas and Ralph Ward; two sisters, Lucille Merritt and Nadine Pogue and a special friend, Ed Banks.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda Jones and her husband Carl of Washburn; one sister, Clyda Gideon of Anderson, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kevin Jones and his wife Tonya, Karla Renkoski and Kelly Catron and her husband Donald; five great grandchildren, Cody Renkoski and his wife Jessica, Lacey Gibbs and her husband Brett, Kathy Williams and her husband Zack, Mickie Fletcher and her husband D.J. and Sarah Catron and six great-great grandchildren, Natalie, Gabby, Koda, Ashtyn, Briley and Smith.
Kathryn received her education at Wanda School. For a few years she was a hospital employee and then became a homemaker. She had been active in Cassville Senior Center and was a member of Mission Baptist Church. One of her favorite pastimes was working in her garden and she loved working with farm animals.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Rick Hendrix will conduct the services. Burial will be in Rocky Comfort Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
