Penni Dianne Lehman, age 64, of Lamar, passed away early Friday morning, November 3, 2017, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood.
Penni was born October 15, 1953, in Lamar, the first of the five children of Roy and Thelma (Johnston) Lehman. After graduating from Lamar High School in 1971, she went on to earn a bachelor of science degree in education from SMS in Springfield. Throughout her 32 years of teaching high school sciences, Penni sparked the love of learning, enriched lives and contributed to the success of countless students in Golden City, Republic, and Lamar. She was devoted to her family and was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her parents, Roy and Thelma Lehman, Lamar; two brothers, Jerald (Connie) Lehman and Allen Lehman all of Lamar; her twin sisters, Kenda (Mark) Garfield, Lamar, and Karma (Mark) Hartong, St. Joseph. Penni was proud to be the aunt of Kelsey (Brandon) Parker, Brandon (Brittanii) Lehman, Nicole (Micah) Osborne, Whitney Garfield, Parker (Ciara) Garfield, Alison (Mitchell) Hedrick, and Taylor (Austin) Doran. She delighted in her great-nephews and great-nieces, Karson and Sophia, Trentyn, Talia, & Jaidyn, Eli & Ella, and Macey, and was looking forward to celebrating the birth of great-niece Doran this December. She will be greatly missed by her large extended family and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5th, at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Lake Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
