Michell L. Shutters, 52, Carthage, MO, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 1, 2017 at her home. Michell Lynn Thornsbrough was born February 21, 1965 in Torrence, CA to William E. Thornsbrough and Mary (Jackson) Thornsbrough. She received her LPN degree from Crowder College and worked as an LPN at Communities of Wildwood Ranch in Joplin, MO. Michell married John M. Shutters on August 22, 1981 in Tulsa, OK; he survives. She was a Christian by faith.
Survivors include her parents, her husband, one daughter, Reba Dalon (husband Melvin), Stotts City, MO; five sons, John A. Shutters (wife Shannon), Taylorsville, MS, Bobby Ray Shutters (wife Crystal), Boise, ID, Clifford W. Shutters, Carthage, MO, Joshua Shutters, Carl Junction, MO, and David Lee Shutters, Webb City, MO; three brothers, William E. Thornsbrough, Chetopa, KS, Anthony Ray Thornsbrough, Tulsa, OK, and William K. Thornsbrough, Tulsa, OK; nine sisters, Lana Dunigan, Mt. Vernon, MO, Billie Joe Jones, Tulsa, OK, Marlee Thornsbrough, Tulsa, OK, Meredith Thornsbrough, Tulsa, OK, Patricia Brazil, Silver City, NM, Janie Thornsbrough, Lamar, MO, Lisa “Boat” Thornsbrough, Tulsa, OK, Stephanie “Bug” Thornsbrough, Tulsa, OK, Amy Thornsbrough, Rolla, MO; 28 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Shaw Marie Thornsbrough, and one grandchild.
Visitation will be held 10 am – 2 pm, Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Private family services will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
