Louvette Sue Payton, 76, Neosho, passed after a sudden illness on November 6, 2017. She was born July 3, 1941 in Neosho, MO to Floyd Coleman and Evelyn Ruth (West) Bridges. She had lived most of her life in Neosho, working as an RN in home health for UpJohn, and also as an over the road truck driver, teaming with her husband, Lonnie. Louvette was an avid reader and loved going to hootenannies.
Louvette married Lonnie Payton December 30, 1960 in Topeka, Kansas; he preceded her in death on August 2, 2004. Surviving are three children: James Payton and wife, Verna, Leanne Burgess and husband, Mark, and Joe Payton and wife, Rebecca, all of Neosho; sister, Venita Henson of Neosho; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Services will be held 10:00 am, Friday, November 10, 2017 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, with Dr. Phillip McClendon officiating. Interment will follow at Gibson Cemetery, Neosho. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 7 pm on Thursday, November 9 at the funeral home.
