Billie Jane Pemberton, age 82, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at her home.
Jane was born September 10, 1935 in Kellogg, Idaho, daughter of the late Clifford Sorenson and Lois Osborn Sorenson. As a child she returned to Joplin with her family and graduated from Joplin High School. Jane retired from Johnson and Johnson in California. After retiring, Jane and her late husband, Normal Pemberton, returned to Joplin to be closer to family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Norman J. Pemberton, who died February 23, 2004, and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include her children, Douglas Farris and wife Karen of Peoria, Arizona, Terry Farris of Baltimore, Maryland, Chris Farris and wife Blanca, Jared Farris and wife Raeana all of Springfield, Illinois; ten grandchildren; cousin, Vickie Dean and husband Jerry of Joplin.
Memorial services will be Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel.
Her ashes will be interred with her husband in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota at a later date.
