Jimmy Johnson

Jimmy Dee Johnson, 73, Neosho, entered into rest on December 31, 2017 at Freeman Neosho ER, following a sudden illness. 

 Jimmy was born Sept. 13, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Dee Johnson and Lois (Macy) Pritchard. He was a career military man, serving in the U.S. Marine Corp, retiring as Master Gunnery Sargent. He moved to Neosho in 1989 from Okinawa Japan., Jimmy enjoyed watching documentaries of war history and military history; woodworking, working in his yard and helping others. He was a member of the Church of God. 

 Jimmy and Mary Christine Ward were married on Feb. 7, 1964 in Norfolk, VA and she preceded him in death on May 1, 2016. He is survived by four children, Deborah Brown and husband, Jim of Goodman; David Dee Johnson and wife, Shelley of Joplin; Karen Spencer of Neosho; Chris Spencer of Hereford, AZ and Kenneth Johnson and wife, Amy of Neosho; one brother, Lloyd Johnson of Harrison, AR; two sisters, Jerry Dody of Oregon and Barbara Sisk of Leon, KS; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Donnie Johnson.

Services will be Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Eugene Cole will officiate. Interment and military honors will be in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be David Johnson, Kenny Johnson, Chris Spencer, Ron Cole, Trenton Tickell and Jim Brown. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
