Ron Whittle

Mr. Ronald John “Ron” Whittle, 77, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Friday morning, January 12, 2018, in the comfort of his home after months of declining health.

Ron entered this life on September 18, 1940, in Halstead, Kansas, born to the union of the late Roland Ralph and Iva Mae ((Owens) Whittle. He resided several years in California and Oklahoma, before moving to Anderson, Missouri, in 1980. Throughout his life he worked in the field of maintenance. Before retiring from the McDonald County Road District, Ron worked eighteen years at Tyson Foods in Neosho. He enjoyed raising cattle and playing Wahoo with his special friends, John and Helen Washam. Ron was a member of the Tiff City Community Church.

His parents and a sister, Marjorie Carol Wheeler, preceded him in death.

Ron is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; four children, Wayne Whittle of Neosho, Tim Whittle and wife, Tammie, of Neosho, Robert Whittle and wife, Susie, of Bellflower, California and Kasey Whittle of Springfield, Missouri; three stepchildren, David Fewell of the state of Oklahoma, Debbie Almstead of Bentonville, Arkansas and Keith Jones of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two brothers, his twin Donnie Whittle of Vera, Oklahoma and David Whittle of Burton, Kansas; two sisters, Sue Ann Sicari of Palm Desert, California and Robin Leahr of Garden City, Kansas; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Whittle are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Donnie Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Wayne Whittle, Tim Whittle, Robert Whittle, Jamie Townsend, John Washam, Jeremy Whittle and Dennis Townsend. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A memorial has been established for the family and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
