Sharon Freeman

Sharon Kay Freeman, age 74, of Purdy, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at her home.

She was born October 22, 1943 in Ritchey, Missouri the daughter of William “Bill” and Pearl Mae (Clevenger) Grimes. On March 10, 1960 she was united in marriage to James Sparks, who preceded her in death on July 16, 2007. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Doyle Ray Sparks; one stepson, Jack Freeman; one brother, Doyle Grimes and two grandsons, Morgan Murphy and Gregory Sparks.

On March 15, 2012 she married Melvin K. “Kenny” Freeman, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Jimmy Lee Sparks of Cassville, Missouri; one daughter, Teresa Boxley and her husband Karroll of Cassville, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Madonna Sparks of Cassville, Missouri; three stepdaughters, Rhonda Sartin of Exeter, Missouri, Tammie Williamson and her husband Carroll and Deanna Carver and her husband Chris all of Purdy, Missouri; one brother, Billy Ray Grimes of Green River, Wyoming; a half-sister, Judy West of Joplin, Missouri; ten grandchildren; sixteen step grandchildren and several great grandchildren, step great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Sharon attended school at Ritchey, Purdy and received her GED at Pierce City. For fourteen years she was employed at Jumping Jacks and then worked at Fasco for twenty-four years. She had also been employed a short time at Able 2 and for two years was a greeter at Wal-Mart. She was a member of Blessing Heights Worship Center in Cassville. She loved her dogs Coco, Cream Puff and Missy and enjoyed arts and crafts, especially wood burning.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Brad Hudson and Brother David Donaldson will conduct the services. Burial will be at Russell Cemetery in Butterfield, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
