John Ivan Porter was born June 2, 1935 in Granby, Missouri, the son of Paul Gene and Grace (Rawlins) Porter. He entered into rest on June 24, 2019 at Neosho, Missouri at the age of 84.
John served in the U.S. Air Force and had worked in automotive sales. He returned to the southwest Missouri area in 2000 from Iowa. He enjoyed singing, playing golf and fishing and was a member of Rocketdyne Road Church of Christ.
John married Wilma Jean Poe Cupps on October 4, 2003 in Neosho and she survives.
Additional survivors include two stepsons, Rick Cupps and wife, Noot of Neosho and Brett Cupps and wife, Cindy of Broken, Arrow, Oklahoma and two grandchildren, Christa Cupps and Spencer Cupps.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn on Nov. 20, 1996, his parents and six siblings.
