(From Ulmer Funeral Home)James LaFon Carroll, 96, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
James was born on April 20, 1928, in Clarence, Missouri, to Lewis and Corrine (LaFon) Carroll. James was a former longtime Jasper County Resident. He surrendered to the gospel ministry at the age of 41. He pastored 16 years taking many mission trips to Mexico distributing bibles. For 20 years he dedicated his life to getting bibles into the hands of people around the world printed in their own language.
He was joined in marriage to Madelyn (Baker) Carroll on October 21, 1951, in Shelbina, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Madelyn Baker Carroll of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son, Roy Carroll of St. Elizabeth, Missouri; daughter, Cindy Baucum (Ken) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son in law, Ron Winter of Del City, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren, 40 plus great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Carroll; mother, Corinne LaFon Carroll; son, Gary Carroll; daughter, Connie Winter; brother, Donald Carroll; sister, Lila Ruth Doup; and niece, Carroll Ruth Doup.
There will be a grave side service for James at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.
