Kathryn Garoutte

Mrs. Kathryn Darlene Garoutte, 86, of Diamond, Missouri passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Darlene was born on Sunday, September 4, 1938, in Pomona, Kansas to the union of the late James and Kathryn (Bolyard) Mitchell. On April 18, 1954, she was united in marriage to Emery LeVaughn Garoutte, sharing sixty-eight years of wonderful memories until his passing on July 15, 2022. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved her family dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, sewing, flowers and was an avid garage sale shopper. She will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.








She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Emery Garoutte; and sisters, Jalene Howerton and Sherry Spilman.

Darlene is survived by her children; Steve Garoutte and wife, Karen, of Joplin, Billy Garoutte of Carthage, Larry Garoutte and wife, Carol, of Diamond and Kathy Eckert and husband, Tom, of Sarcoxie; grandchildren, Cody Joe Garoutte, Kinsey Lawrence and husband, Austin, Ryan Garoutte, Cameron Garoutte, Amanda Miller and husband, Mike, Carla McKee and husband Rob, Austin Shields, Tucker Sharples and wife, Liz, Alyssa Buehler and husband, Chris, and Kendall Hansford and husband, Clay; twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Jim Mitchell and wife, Diana, Ed Mitchell and wife, Sharon and John Mitchell and wife, Lisa; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.








Funeral services for Mrs. Garoutte are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Sharples officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Tucker Sharples, Austin Shields, Cameron Garoutte, Ryan Garoutte, Cody Garoutte, Mike Miller and Rob McKee. Burial will follow at Diamond Cemetery, Diamond, Missouri. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
