Lucille Stoll

(From Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home)

Wilma Lucille Stoll (who preferred Lucille or Lucy) was born February 11, 1928 in Rose Kansas, to Rena and Elta Crumrine. Brother Hilmer and sister Mildred.

She attended a local country grade school, then attended high school in Yates Center Kansas. She married Laurence Dexter Stoll on March 9 1947 and remained married until Laurence’s death in January 2017. They raised 4 children. Larry Joe, Terry Rae, Kenneth Wayne and Jaimie Lee.

The newly weds lived in Yates Center Kansas for several years. Then they purchased the Toronto Lumber Company which Lucy helped Laurence operate. Laurence was an adventurous soul and Lucille was his faithful companion. Moving to Cassville Missouri in 1967, she supported him in his goal to work in aviation. Together they ran the Aurora Municipal Airport from 1971 to 1980.

They moved to Monett Missouri, and built a small home on the grounds of Jack Henry & Associates campus, where Laurence was employed. After he retired, they traveled extensively in their RV travel trailer.

After Laurence passed, Lucille moved to Oak Pointe Assisted Living in Monett Missouri until August of 2024. In failing health, she moved to a care home in Oklahoma, near her youngest daughter, where she passed away on December 29th, 2025 at the age of 97.

She is survived by 3 of her 4 children, Larry Stoll plus spouse Joan, Terry Cox plus spouse Ralph, and Jaimie Overton plus spouse Howard, as well as Betty Stoll, spouse of Kenneth. Sadly, Kenneth Stoll was killed in an accident in 2008, and grandson Scott McVey passed away in 2017.

There are also 4 surviving grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous other great-greats and step grandkids.

All who knew Lucy, would say that she was unfailingly the kindest, most loyal friend, wife, mother etc. She never had an unkind word for any person, and cheerfully did her best to make others feel loved. A truer Christian has never been on this Earth.

Memorial services for Lucille are being held on Saturday January 17, 2026 at 11:00a.m. at Waldensian Church in Monett, Missouri.
