Karen Moore

Karen Lenora “Aunt Ida” Moore, 73, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the solace house in Joplin, Missouri.

Karen is survived by her sister Marcia Cooper (Steven) and brother Darryl Moore. Karen never had any children of her own, but was always a mother figure to all of her nieces and nephews.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Marian (Harbin) Moore; three brothers, Larry Rice, Harold “Hal” Moore, and Mark Moore Sr.; and one sister, Cynthia Moore.








Karen was born December 22, 1948 in Carthage. She worked many years at Big Smith before being lead to Restoration Outreach Church where she served as church secretary until her retirement.
She was a graduate of Carthage High School Class of 1966.

Due to poor health she had been home bound the last few years and resided at St. Luke’s Nursing Home the last two years.

Family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Solace House and Avalon Hospice for their hard work and compassion in her final days.








A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Bykota Church in Carthage. A visitation will be held Friday evening, June 3, 2022, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at Ulmer Funeral Home. The burial will follow immediately after the funeral service at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Carthage.
