(From Parker Mortuary)Marcella “Marcey” Marie (Messig) Anderson, age 79, joined her husband Wayne in heaven on Saturday, June 4, 2022. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on February 22, 1943 to the late Howard Messig and Rosella (Pomeroy) Burt. She passed away at her home surrounded by family.
Marcey was an avid bowler as evidenced by her numerous patches and trophies. Marcey loved to fish, especially with her uncle Buddy. She worked many retail jobs over the years, her favorites were Shop Ko and Petro. She loved to watch NASCAR races, and her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt.
Marcey and Wayne were married on 3/2/1960 in Winona, MN.
Marcey is survived by her four children: Wayne, Jr., Terri, Penny (Ted), Susan (Paul), four sisters: Bonnie (Clarence), Ruth Ann, Donna, and Diane (Tom), two brothers: Howard (Karen), and Jerry, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Marcey will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Danny Mullins officiating; The family will visit with friends following the service.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the ALS Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
