(From Daniel Funeral Home)Melissa Leigh Oertle, age 55, of Lamar, Missouri passed away June 5, 2022.
Melissa was born April 25, 1967 in Kansas City, Missouri to Tommy (Tom) Lee Day and the late Marcia Lucille (Merritt) Witham. Melissa graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1985 and from NEO College in December of 1987.
On April 18, 1992, Melissa married Robert Lynn Oertle in Lamar, MO.
Melissa worked as a medical coder for Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, Missouri. She was a member of the Barton County Eagles, loved to bowl and play golf, and also like to go to the casino from time to time, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Oertle of the home; a daughter, Lynsi Oertle (Brian Whittle) of Golden City, Missouri; a step-son, Justin Oertle of Columbus, Kansas; her father and step-mother, Tom and Gail Day of Lamar, one sister, Brooke Day (Bob Tucker) of Lamar, two brothers; Randy Day and his wife, Katie and Russ Day, all of Lamar, and grandfather Dick Scroggs.
Melissa was preceded in death by her mother, Marcia; a sister, Samantha Gartman; step-father, Bill Witham; Grandmothers, Lou Scroggs and Nina Stone.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m, Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Howell (Owens) Cemetery in Lamar, MO.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m., until service time, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the funeral home.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to the American Cancer Society or the Epilepsy Foundation in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
