Royle Brooks

Royle Gene Brooks, age 87, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. The son of Oscar and Vicey (Ennis) Brooks, Royle was born on March 19, 1935, in Lamar, Colorado. 

After attending schools in Lamar, Colorado and Oak Ridge School in Cassville, he married the love of his life, Lucille Faye Lester, on July 4, 1953, at the home of her parents in Cross Hollows; she preceded him in death on January 21, 2013.

Royle enjoyed farming and doing yardwork. He was a talented musician, playing the harmonica, guitar, dobro and singing. Royle loved going fishing in his spare time, but his greatest joy in life was his family. He was a good man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include one son, Stan Brooks, of Cassville; one daughter, Linda Crumpler, of Cassville; eight grandchildren, Vanissa Yocum and her husband Billy, of Cassville, Terissa Scott and her husband Shawn, of Cassville, Chad Brooks and his wife Gina, of Cassville, Jeffrey Crumpler, of Cassville, Boyce Crumpler and his wife Jodi, of Cassville, Stephen Crumpler and his wife Stephanie, of Exeter, Amber Brooks, of Pineville, and Kala Schroder, of Cassville; three step-grandchildren, Karla Zinkand and her husband David, of Tennessee, Kenny Crumpler, of Texas, and Kevin Crumpler, of Washington; twenty-five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; seven step great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Royle was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Brooks; five brothers; seven sisters; and son-in-law, Rex Crumpler.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Cassville, with Pastor Brad Hudson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the White Funeral Home in Cassville.
