On Thursday, October
13, 2022, Dennis Orrell
Offutt, affectionately referred to by his sons as
DaddyO (Daddy Offutt)
passed away at 85 years
of age, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
A
memorial service will be
held at 11a.m. Saturday,
March 4th, at the Stoney
Point Assembly of God
near Jerico Springs. Rev.
Grant Curtis will officiate.
Burial will be at Amos
Cemetery, northwest of
Lockwood.
He is survived by his
wife of 36 years, Glenda
Offutt and a brother Darrell Offutt and his wife
Frieda of Neosho, Missouri. He had 3 children, two sons; Derren
and his wife Julie of Plano, TX and Lance and his
wife Elita of Frisco, TX
and a stepdaughter Danielle Alarcon and her husband Hugh of Kingsport,
TN, four grandchildren,
Jade, Nathan, Amber, and
Ava.
Dennis was preceded in death by his
brother Donald, mother
Vinita and father Jim.
Dennis was born at
the family farm north of
Golden City, Missouri,
Dade County in 1937.
From a poor farm boy,
to the Navy, two college degrees and many
high-tech engineering
leadership roles in the
federal government and
private sectors – Dennis
achieved his goals with
quiet self- determination
and humility. He was
absolutely the quintessential example of living
the “American Dream,” having achieved so much
success through hard
work, determination, and
initiative.
The family wishes to
echo the lifelong desire of
Dennis to do our very best
to be peaceable, kind, and
respectful to one another,
and most of all try to follow closely in Jesus’ footsteps. (1 Peter 2:21).
