Richard Louis Johnson, age 70, Joplin, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at his home.
Richard was born April 20, 1946 in Columbia, Missouri, son of the late Richard Hamilton Johnson and Ruth Miller Byers Johnson. He graduated from Hickman High School in 1964 in Columbia. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era with the Navy Fighter Squadron VF - 92 aboard Aircraft Carrier USS Enterprise in 1966-1967. Richard moved to Joplin in 1976, and worked for First State Bank from 1997 until his retirement in 2008 in the credit department and collections.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Judy Johnson; daughters, Jennifer Johnson of Denver, Colorado, Rebecca Johnson of Joplin; grandchildren, Ethan, William, Eli, and Chloe all of Joplin.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Park Plaza Christian Church with Pastor B.A. Austin officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
