(From Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary)
F. Ann Langston, 73, of Carl Junction, went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2017 after battling cancer.
Ann was born on January 23, 1944 to Ralph and Dorothy (Hughes) Cowan in Fort Scott, Kansas. She made a career out of serving others, which included 10 years of retail service and 27 years of service in the medical field. Ann was a devoted mother, having participated in local PTA, Cub Scout, and Brownie groups. She served her community by being a member of the Carl Junction Park Board where she helped start a park and shelter at the Country Club Estates. In her spare time, she loved to dance and spend time with her friends and family. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need; she danced, loved, and hugged her way through life, and now, she’s doing as she lived but in the hearts of all who are blessed by her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.
She is survived by six children, Greg Langston (Jenny) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Judy Welch (Mike) of Purcell, Missouri; Mary Lynn Braswell of Joplin, Missouri; Cathy Flathers (Bucky) of Oronogo, Missouri; Todd Langston of Joplin, Missouri; and Bill Corlett (Tina) of Webb City, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary with Mark Christian officiating; burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Christ’s Church of Oronogo. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
