Chad A. Wilson, age 44 of Carthage, Missouri passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 following a short illness.
He was born June 29, 1973 in Carthage, Missouri. He was raised on the family farms NE of Carthage.
Chad was a member of Lincoln 4-H and Jasper FFA. He graduated from Jasper High School class of 1991 and attended Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri. He was also a member of the Methodist Church and attended Harvest Time Church in Avilla, Missouri.
He farmed with his brother, Dax, on what is known as Wilson Farms. Farming was his passion and his life. He collected John Deere miniatures and mementos. Chad strived for the best farming practices. He loved the land and worked many acres with his brother. Chad loved the outdoors, animals and his best pal, Rascal, the dog, who was always by his side. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, auto mechanics, watching sports on television, and listening to country music. Chad loved his mother’s home cooked meals. He had many friends who helped him out and in turn he helped them. He enjoyed exposing and teaching his special nephew and nieces, Trestin, Hannah and Madison to the outdoors and farm life. He loved spending time with them.
Chad is survived by his mother, Mary Steele Wilson, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, his father, Quentin Wilson, Golden City, Missouri, one brother, Dax Wilson and wife Michelle , Jasper, Missouri, two sisters, Symonne Porras and husband Joe, Kansas City, Missouri, Heather Wilson, Chandler, Arizona, one aunt Diana Steele Spencer and husband Richard, Golden, Missouri, one uncle James Steele, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and his nieces, Hannah and Madison Porras, Kaitlyn Lewis, and a nephew, Trestin Dean.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Lena Steele of Webb City, Missouri, and his paternal grandparents, Willard and Betty Wilson of Carthage, Missouri.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday December 4, 2017 at the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Clint Lambeth officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm prior to the service.
Those gentlemen honoring is life by serving as pallbearers are, Doug Collard, Roger Flenniken, Eli Weaver, Levi Weaver, John Chandler, Ethan Chandler, and Lynn Andrews.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home Webb City, Missouri.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, family and friends donate to the American Diabetes Association.
